Hi!
I own a PowerBook Duo 280c. The screen can have two modes:
- 640x480 pixels with 256 colours;
- 640x400 pixels with 16 bits.
Resizing the image is not a problem.
The problem I have is when I want to transform a wallpaper done in 32 bits, the rendering in 16 bits or 256 colours of the nuances is awful. For example, the classic wallpaper for OS X (the blue one) is not great when I put it on my PB, even in 16 bits (the nuances disappear).
How is it possible to decrease correctly the colours, in order to have a good rendering?
I have tried with Photoshop but the result is not very good, and I think I don't know how to parameter correctly the good tools. I own Photoshop 7 and Photoshop Elements 2 for PC, and Photoshop 4 for Macintosh. Then if you want to give me tricks with Photoshop, there would be no problem.
Thanks in advance for your help and best regards,
Don.
