Question For Mac Users

Since you got a Mac (you most likely have OS X on it), have you lost the need to skin windows like OS X, or the need for the assorted apps by alilm and such?

I don't really care very much about iTunes for Windows anymore, it all seems like a waste of time now...

@all, Windows is kinda homey now to me, kinda like a card board box in the cold winter night, away from my nice warm mansion... Windows is also kinda stupid like the analogy I just made :lol: .

All kidding aside, I like Windows a lot, it's powerful (when it wants to be), stable (sometimes), And over all... easy to use.

The only complaint I have over Macs is the very vague system errors...

Ex... "The system has encountered an error"

The major problem I see with windows that prevents it from looking good to me is that it doesn't have anti-aliased fonts. Don't even be fooled by Cleartype, its not real anti-aliasing. Still though, going back to the point, I think that without skins Windows looks incredibly ugly. I can't stand using windows with Luna or "Classic" windows styles. They are both awful looking to me. So I stick to stuff that is appealing to my eyes. I think that Mac users especially wouldn't want to look at a bland interface on a PC.

Sorry, I didn't intend to say anything bad about windows. I was just trying to make my point on why Mac users would stick to using alternate skins rather than the default windows look.

Edit: Oh and to and to answer ihartmacz' question, I skinned all my windows to look like my macs and still look forward to more programs that will make windows work and look more and more like macs. Makes for great conversation pieces when I have guests over.

i do not have a mac, but as soon as i can afford it i will buy one. my philospohy is that a mac will probably be better overall, ut in this this pc-based world it is essential to own some kind of pc. so why not make it look appealing? like your mac? just my 2 cents! :canadian:

Since getting a Mac, XP with either the Classic or the Luna theme have become unuseable. However since putting KoL's Aluminium Alloy theme up, along with my dock, things are much nicer on here, and I can happily use my PC as well as my Mac. The fonts on Windows, however, look terrible compared to the Mac - and I'm talking about with Cleartype off on both machines. If you use both systems regularly, you'll know what I mean.

Hell, I use Linux 95% of the time, but I still have to boot into Windows occasionally.

Noone likes to boot into a visually unwelcoming OS (ie windows), SPECIALLY after youve been breezing trough OSX!

Maybe because people like using the themes. Call it a hobby.

I rarely use Windows anymore...the only time I use Windows is when I log onto a school computer, and obviously I can't just go around skinning those. I maybe spend 15 min in Windows per week.
