What Aqua Looking Email Program Does Everyone Use?

Does anyone use a cool looking aqua or mac looking email program? If so what?

#57159

i use oe because it's the only client that'll let me check hotmail (yes yes, hotmail). pack made a mod for it. check the aquaxp download section for it.

if i weren't using oe, i'd use mozilla thunderbird.

#57160

if you have a free yahoo account you can also use OE with it .. there is an open source app called YAHOOPOPS! that lets you do this. Quite handy considering its free unlike yahoo's pop3 mail now which you must pay for their services :)

http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/ :)

I use HOTMAILPOPPER. It turns hotmail into POP3. Works great with Mozilla Thunderbird.

If you use Outlook(Express), you're an idiot. Nuff said. ^_^

i use my linux machine for email

ximian evolution is the best email program ever. period.

some mods are very arrogant, calling a person an idiot is not so helpful .... such a shame.

#57169

nope, its just me thats arrogant, and I was like this before I became a mod.

There are viruses written specifically for Outlook, so you are naturally more secure using a different client. Its not rocket science.

Not to mention that Thunderbird has Beyesian Filtering, and outlookXP doesnt (I believe 2k3 added some).

And anyway, this is a very redundant thread. If the poster had just STFF ( ^_^ ), he would have found an answer.

yeah that's true, there are a lot of oe viruses. :( i really wanted to use mozilla thunderbird, so then i could set up imap to use with my university email account also.

how is hotmail popper? doesn't it run as a service in the background?

#57177

havent had any problems or viruses with OE so far. And why use hotmail when it has only 2 mb space, yahoo has more space plus yahoopops is just like hotmailpopper which is also supported by other pop clients not just OE.

#57183

i used hotmail when it was hot, i.e. before it was bought by ms, and it's my main email. it's the email i signed everything up with, and it's the one i tell everyone. basically i'm too lazy to switch over to anything else. besides i still need it for msn messenger.

#57185

I use OE but with a twist by using packs mod

That's actually untrue.. you can sign onto MSN messenger with ANY email that you have.. you just have to create a new Microsoft Passport using your non-hotmail email address.

I'm logged into MSN right now with cerebral AT wmpub DOT ca. That's defenitely not hotmail. :D

until not so long ago i was using OE modded by pack, but i sacrificed the looks for spam protection in outlook 2003.. OMG that is some powerful spam filtering sh##! hehehe... and it actually doesnt look as bad... not aqua tough but definitely better than outlook 2002

Cheers,

[Offtopic]

I think that mods in the first place shouldn't be arrogant - you are the people who create this site and guard its reputation.

It's not the first time when I find you arrogant and rude. Calm down and try to be nicer or maybe resign from your post. Give it up. IMO the number of posts sent by a man shouldn't be the final reason to promote hime to be a Mod. I believe that admins don't want to work with mods who break fundamental rules of this site (quotations):

'We help our members'

'Please, do not bring your personal agendas here. We are an open comunity, but off-topic posts and rants are time consuming and only cause friction in our community. There are plenty of boards in the world for venting your frustration or talking politics and religion...please, do so on THOSE boards and NEVER here.

Also, refrain from flaming our fellow members. We provide this site as a favor and a welcome place for members to share and help one another.'

I'd like somebody to refer to this.

yeah, i know you can do that, but i have a question. if i use another email, can i still have the same contact list? i don't want to have to sign up another passport, then create another msn account, and then tell everyone my new account. it would be easier if the msn account could have two logins, like a hotmail one and a non-hotmail one, so i could at least have the hotmail one as a dummy account.

and that's just contrasutra. that's how he is.:lol:

that's true, but it gets even messier. i've used hotmail for all my registrations everywhere, i can't even remember all the places anymore. i don't even know where to begin trying to switch email accounts. :(

#57340

yeah thats true...

is there any program out there that automatically replies to whatever incoming mail saying thers a new adrees in use and then resends the mail into your account of choice? Thad be very cool even for a non hotmail user like me... imagine the ones that have to stick with that horrible 2 meg limit and the 30 day thing and the under 1 meg attachment file!!!

ANy help would be apreciated...

Sorry for being a bit out of topic

#57341

yeah, that sounds like a good app too. i could really use that. any ideas?

#57345

I've just been filling in for duckie, he's the resident jerk, but he hasn't been so resident lately, so i've been picking up the slack.

By the way: The mods have no responsibility to the members. If Goku/Timan/Jef/Duckie dont like what im doing, they will stop me, its that simple, you don't have to police us.

On hotmail popper: It runs as a proxy. You turn it on and then you set your POP3 server as 127.0.0.1 (localhost), and its that simple.
