I have always wondered if it was possible to get programs like in some movies. They all have really cool looking GUIs, but i never see stuff like it. I know this question is very ambiguous, but i know some other people must have gotten the feeling. I guess my question is if anyone else feels like this, and what kind of nice guis they have seen.

Guess it should be called HUI => Holographical User Interface 
Shouldn't be too hard to make, though... 
the amount of freedom in GUI design that you may have is limited by the Toolkit that you use to create that GUI and the underlining libraries that control how things get displayed, you can mimic other environments.
If you look at all the GUIs the all share the same structure, whatever you can see it or not everything in a GUI is a box, even rounded things are actually boxes with a alpha channel applyed and hits to the desktop to make it look like a round thing.
If it's just the GUI look, I think some movies use programs like WindowBlinds and possibly DesktopX or other shells.
Post some screen shots of some GUI's that you would like cloned.
