Next Yz Dock?

Does anyone know what is in store for the next version of Yz Dock?

#5077

My guess is, Mr. Yz has implemented all the things he WANTED to. He might fix a bug here and a bug there. Or he just might add a few more mac features if we make enough noise :P

#5099

Well... i'd like to have BUILT-IN pop-up menus.... the Litestep one takes my CPU usage up to 100%.

#5104

I'd like to see an option for more icon bouncing, and also separator options :)

#5295

Well...it's been a long time since the last update to Y'z Dock which leads me to believe that Mr. Y is working on some major update to Y'z Dock (maybe 0.5)....I'm pretty sure that he wants to implement running-tasks and bouncing icons for folders...

Lets hope so..

I would love running apps showing and Master Y would make my day if new apps pop up in the dock too (whose icon you can customize, just like in OD).

#5435

WTF?

Um, maybe you aren't paying attention, but Yz DOES have bouncing icons AND triangles showing open apps. Plus, you can add seperators by adding a clear png.

#5468

Sorry to correct you Master....but only icons for applications bounce....I was referring to adding bouncing icon support for folder icons (eg. Trash)...

Yes, there are bouncing icons in the latest yz dock, but the graphics really suck. I mean no offense to mr. y or whatever, but I think he could make the bouncing a little smoother, like objectdock. They are also waaayyy late. I click on explorer and it loads in a second, and then after like 5 seconds only then does the icon bounce with horrible frame rate. Also built in menus would be nice, but its not top on my list by far. I'd say the next thing would be system tray built in. (w/ application screenshots) That would be great. I love yz dock because of its lovely, accurate representation of the jaguar dock, but other docks out there like objectdock are taking its place because they have all the goody features. But, there magnification will never compare, which is why I hope he adds the great features that the other less attractive docks posess. Then his dock would be hands down the best.

Oh and Twighlight, my cpu usage goes up to 100% without litestep menus. Infact it does with all of the docks. I dont know what your cpu goes up to, but I dont use litestep and mine has always gone up to 100% if I roll over the dock long enough. How much ram do you have?? I think that may have something to do with it.

Sidd, I wasn't trying to ba master of anything, all I was pointing out is that the icons do bounce in the newest version of Yz Dock. It just seemed like all of you were either forgetting that or didnt know there was a new version out.

#5515

Yeah..well we were discussing about the next release of Y'z Dock and all I pointed out was that I'd like to see bouncing icons for folders such as My Docs, Control Panel, Trash etc in the next update...for as you know only applications bounce...folders do not...

That's all I was saying....Sorry bout that..

I also said options for LONGER bouncing...

sorry if that wasnt clear.

BTW, I'd use Yzdock over OD anyday.

Also, the separators are too spread appart, and we need options to change spacing.

I dont care about adding clear png's as they 'magnify' with the rest of the dock.

The things i would like to see in the next Y'z Dock are:

- A actual version number in the settings panel. Like wether it is v.1.4.5 or whatever not just v0.4.

- A box that shows the number size of the dock, maginification, and transparency.

- The apility to add more seperators not just seperators that zoom.

that's all i can come up with now.

Any NEWS on Y's dock ???

#5820

indeed.. its not Mr.Y-ish to not update YzDock in such a long while. But what do we know? What if he really has something great to add to the dock, and it might be taking a while? Anyway.. I too await the new version eagerly..

#5849

well there isn't really anything major left but I would like some more features for making backgrounds like foreground layering

#5876

Nothing major left?!?

How about a clock? functioning trash bin? drag and drop to apps and folders on the dock? pop-up menus?

Sorry...don't mean to jump on you....just going through new dock release withdrawl :)

Yeah, me too. I hope Mr. Yamaguchi will dress up like Santa Claus and deliver all of us good little boys and girls a new version in time for Christmas.

k.... From KaosD the main man:

---------------------------------------

I see a lot of people asking when the next release is going to be. The next release will be in early January. Mr. Yamaguchi has quit rushing releases out the door and trust me, it shows, 0.5 is well worth the wait. This post is not trying to tease you but rather answer a question that I am seeing posted everywhere. Mr. Yamaguchi is enjoying his holidays with his family and yet he still keeps working on the dock. Allow me to be the first to say, thank you Mr. Yamaguchi, for all your hard work and hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday.

awhile back didn't M.Y say there would be a plug-in feature? I wish I knew what code it would be in so I can start learning how to program for the plug-ins.
