Open Close Cd Tray

I`m not shore that this is the right place to ask this but here it goes:

Does anybody know if it`s there a program that would allow me to when I click the icon (on my dock): once it will open the CD tray and when I click it again it will close it???

you can try this.

not sure if it'll close it when you click on it again, though.

oops, here's a non-systray one. http://www.rjlsoftware.com/software/utility/open_cd/

i'm still looking for others. i know i've seen them somewhere before.

edit: some more, but they're shareware. :(

i think it might be possible with a script of some kind. i'm sure someone around here could write one. either that or maybe a docklet.

There's a command line utility to load or open based on arguments, but that won't do what you want either.

eject is the program's name.

i

open_CD is closest to the real thing but I`d need 4 shortcuts ( open CD-R, close CD-R, open CD-RW, close CD-RW) so it would be messy.

But a docklet is a great Idea (I`ll put it on a wish list and maybe I get lucky  )

yeah, it's not worth looking for an app (a shareware one at that!) that'll do something so simple. request it, and hope it comes true. :)

Thank you very much dreamz for your help. :rule:

This is my solution for now:

combination of KkMenu docklet and open_CD (http://www.rjlsoftware.com/software/utility/open_cd/)

no prob. that looks neat! :)

Since you have more than one CD drives, you will either have to use one icon for every CD or use a menu.
