Mem Usage?

I have been using y's dock until Objectdock .70 came out.

Objectdock is using 25 MB of memory! What the heck?

I have Y's Dock set up with the same icons. It uses 11 Megs.

I have to shut down my dock to run my high end games.

What's the point? :(

Yes, I have noticed OD takes quite a bit of ram here also.

I just checked right now and it's using 30 meg, while Y'z is using is 12.

Hopefully Jeff will optimize it in the future after he is satisfied all the functions are working correctly.

That's the way it usually goes with software developement. One gets the function working correctly first and then goes back and performs optimizations.

Peace,

Yeah, my ObjectDock takes up 25MB too, ouch. My suggesstion, create 2 user accounts and run all your mac stuff in one where you do less memory intensive things and a gaming screen name with just the bare essentials, thats what i do.

well...most systems now have plenty of ram...I worry more about processor usage u know...its quite high {:o(

hope jeff improve this.

respect.

My ObjectDock is taking up 35 megs of RAM and it doesn't affect me at all :P Of course, I recently upgraded to 640MB, so I'm sure that helps. Currently 291 used and 348 to spare.

Everyone should really look into making RAM their next upgrade... it only cost me $61 for a new 512MB stick of PC-133 RAM, including shipping. Well worth the cost of, say, a PS2 game and lunch at McDonald's.
