Suggestion For Object Dock Future Release

Well i was in a comp usa store and i spotted a G5, i couldn't take my eyes off of it, it was so beutiful, anyway i went right up to the computer and scrolled the mouse down to the dock and clicked the text edit icon. Text edit poped up but i was suprised that it didn't appear to the right of the seperator when i figured it out.

On the windows dock when you click an icon and have the taskbar enabled the program opens and appears on the dock tasks side (right or left depending where you have it).

Back to the story, i opened another window and couldn't minimize it. I didn't know how to get back to the text edit since it wasn't on the other side of the seperator. I went to the finder bar at the top but i couldn't access it from there either. Then i relized it. I clicked the dock icon i clicked at first and that brought the program up.

Later i came back home to my crappy windows and when i clicked the same icon after clicking it some time ago, instead of bringing the program up, it opened a new instance.

Heres my suggestion, instead of a dock taskbar make it so that the icon itself is sort of a dock taskbar, when you double click on it it brings the prog back up. Cuz i don't want to use the dock taskbar, since every time i open a new prog the dock majorly slows down with each new icon placed on the dock. Yet i would rather use it then the windows startbar. I want more a more osx dock then windows dock if it is possible.

I think you can have the same thing with Objetdock, go dock settings, Dock contents, and if clicked, shortcut should currently run.

icons only show up on the right side when the proggy is minimized.

folders on the other hand will always stay on the right side.

icons which weren't already in the dock will pop up on the left side when the app is opened.

it's really confusing at first being used to the windows docks. ;)

Sorry to burst your bubble, to turn a phrase, but the people of this community who are out for the 'pure mac' look on their PCs have suggested this over and over already for the docks... personally, I like the way it currently is, but to each their own.

Anywho, if they're gonna implement it, then it'll get done, they know there's a big market for it. :)

bluebyt, while you can do the shorcut thing, all it does is place a triangle indicator under the icon.

Sorry, didn't relize that people already asked for this.
