Webcam On A Computer Allready With One

hi, i was wandering if somebody could answer this question for me. i have a laptop with a built in web-cam but have bought a web-cam, i can move around. how do i disable the built in web-cam? i will be using it for Skype and Messenger, thank you, Debbie
