"view Desktop Version"

While playing around with the Aqua-Soft Mobile Skin on my iPhone, I clicked on the "View Desktop Version" link at the bottom of the page. As expected, this changes the skin to the default forum skin for the site. However, I was unable to get back to the mobile skin. Is there some way to do that?

At one point I tried unhiding the Aqua skin so it can be selected at the bottom of the page when viewing a typical forum skin. Curious what the mobile skin would look like on my desktop machine, I selected the mobile skin. I then clicked on the "View Desktop Version" link, but it would only bring me back to the mobile skin. I had to go into the database and manually change the skin ID for my user in order to get back to the correct skin.

This is actually a flaw in IPB3. Where they let you toggle to a theme via user agent, but not back (you need to delete your cookies to fix this).

I have a simple file mod coming in the next few days that will fix this issue.

The first thing I tried to do was delete my cookies and unfortunately that did not fix the problem. While there may have been another way to revert back to the default skin, I went into the database to change the skin ID.

I have a simple file mod coming in the next few days that will fix this issue.

Quick fix right now is to not have the skin show up in the skin selector. Then just set the user age thing. That way they cant select the skin from their desktops.

I immediately removed it from the skin selector after I saw that I could not switch back. I doubt many people will go from the mobile skin to the desktop skin on their iPhone, but it's certain to happen. Once there's a way to go back, all will be good.

Quick and dirty fix to this is to connect your phone to another network and enter forums again.

This should clear cache of the old selection and mobile skin will be back.

I just commented that link, since there is no way to go back to mobile skin.

Hope we will have a cleaner fix soon, since desktop version offer much more features and is sometimes required... (at least for admins)

or is there any way that the skin can be set up automatically to use the standard lo-fi skin when visiting areas not covered such as

calendar, gallery etc

Still no fix for this problem? I just got stuck with the mobile theme when testing it on my desktop.

This was fixed a few weeks ago the latest version (http://www.aqua-soft.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=53018), but you still should not select the skin from the drop down box (ever). Let ipb change it after its setup correctly.
