Good Remedies For Severe Toothaches?

I have to get a root canal but I'm not sure if my dentist is on the vacay.

So, what are some good remedies that I don't already know about? Here's a list of things I've tried/done;

* Xylocaine/Lidocaine

* Tylenol

* Tylenol PM

* Tylenol Extra Strength

* Advil

* Motrin

* Generic-brand painkillers

So far, the best thing for really quick relief was applying oil of oregano to my tooth via Q-Tip.

I still feel a little buzz though, and am worried how long it will last before the agonizing pain returns.

So please, share.

Alright, thanks for the great help, Aqua-Soft.

Nyquil, or Kroger Nitetime take about 1/2 teaspoon swish around the tooth.

Alcohol in general

Sore throat spray-- put some on a cotton swab or gauze and bite down on it.

Clove Oil

Maximum Strength Sensodyne

brew 1 small (teacup-sized) bag of black tea, and 2 small bags of green tea and swish it around your teeth a bit, particularly around the worst area of pain, before you swallow

Doesn't matter now, anyways.
