Today is the the day that apple announced the OS 3.0 will be available to download. So where is it?
The site still Says: "Download the software update. Available 17th June" and it's 12:06PM Local time
and iTunes Just keeps saying that I'm up to date with my software 2.2.1 so where is it?
Obviously they aren't going to put it up at the stroke of midnight. They'll probably put it up sometime midday or this evening. Also note that it's only 10:00 AM in the United States now... it's still way early.
no i, i realized at midnight it wasn't lol. I found out on engadget that hitting F5 over and over hasn't helped me (which embarrassingly, i have been since 11am this morning and it's now 3:10pm 
) and it has explained to me when England is getting it between 5:00pm and 7:30pm.
I do think they should have put and estimate time down though...

I updated... it gets old pretty quickly; the majority of features I can't/wont use-
* bluetooth headphones- I need to buy
* spotlight search is... unnecessary I find
* Voice memos... who seriously keeps these and doesnt feel like an idiot doing it?
* Internet tethering- nice. But most data plans are through the roof in Australia to make this even remotely worthwhile
Worthwhile features include-
* Landscape keyboard is nice and much needed
* Safari improvements... what exactly? ... well i guess if I dont have to type passwords all the time then its handy.
* MMS... the most overated and requested feature... but chances are I'll use it
* Copy/Paste Will come in handy one day
Im waiting for a few things-
* Tom Tom iPhone app. Can't wait!
* An official jailbreak so I can install themes again...
* Innovative Apps that show the potential/strength of the iPhone 3.0 SDK.
OMFG! i want it but i dont have fast internet :'( does anyone know how many MB or GB it is????
its like 270MB but i have a slow internet and took a good 2 hours. BUT, DO NOT DOWNLOAD UNLESS IT IS REALLY WANTED.
looking more in depth of the upgrade, i feel that it is not worth the £5.99 ($9.95) and i, if i could get a refund, would rather spend that money on cigarettes.
Looking into the specs of it (like Levi) my views are:
Spotlight search rendered pointless as i only have 8GB and it finds mail that i have deleted WAY long ago (why?)
The Voice Memo is a good idea for those who use it but i dont have the money to shell out for the outrageous prices apple gives their mic/earphone combos
the sideway typing is an improvement, kudos apple on one thing.
the "shake to shuffle" feature is odd as you have to shake your ipod with such violence that I tasted blood. and why give myself a hernia when i can press "shuffle" and then "next" with a light tap
The AutoFill is not bad although ive never used it yet.
BLUETOOTH? IN AN IPOD YOU SAY!?!?! well no not really, you can only hook it up to bluetooth headphones and speakers, when is apple going to wake up and realise that people like send things through mid air, c'mon let us get a few free cheeky songs!
the whole "allowing you to sign in to youtube and stuff" doesnt make much of a difference really.
making a new account on itunes is good for people who dont own a computer, bur who really doesnt own a computer but still has WIF?I (excluding iphones)
app store is a little different blah blah blah.
Copy cut and paste is pretty good although i used it once to test it.
ermmm... stocks turn on a side as do notes. you can now search mail, but that puts spotlight to no use. maps streetview shows pretty impressive graphics rendering capabilities.
I Think that covers it for ipod touch users, dont know much about iphone differences.
All in all i would give it 4/10, not too good apple. 
but thats my opinion.

how slow is ur internet is it like dial up or?????
i wanna know cuz i wanna get it cut im really interested in the cut copy paste plus the bluetooth so know i can use one to call instead of using my dang Chocolate ugly as fone hehe 
The iPhone upgrade is free.
its approx 230MB.
I see no reason not to upgrade, (unless your iphone is Jailbreaked and u want to keep it that way), its just as stable, fast, etc...but that said.... there's not alot new.
My internet is karoo wireless broadband from a D-Link router and my usual download speed is around 30kb/s and even slower which is terrible. And the bad thing is that i cannot switch to anything else as kingston communications and karoo own all the telephones and internet in hull, thats why the rest of england have red telephone boxes an hull has white.
