In my screenshot you can see an image shift for the reserved area of the dock.

Sorry, I'm as clueless as you are - I have never seen this happening, neither on Vista nor on XP. Looks more like a video driver bug? Have you tried it on another XP system to see if you can reproduce the problem (my bet is that you won't be able to and this is a system specific issue)?

ok let me put another coin in the videocard-driver jackpot machine and see what comes out.

ok that was done. got latest Intel Mobile Express 4 driver for the card, but the effect is still there. now that you mentioned it I do think it's only happening on this machine... perhaps anyone else has this video chipset as well and can share info?
