Nimi Adds Various Animation Effects To Windows

I ran across this app earlier today on lifehacker, I've never heard of it before, nor have I tried it but the concept is quite intriguing.

Based on the author's description, the app adds OSX/Compiz style eyecandy to Windows XP / Vista (& Windows7?) The visual effects include window shadows, transparency, different motion effects like 'wobbly' windows, some blurring of element backgrounds like the taskbar...

I have yet to try this out myself, but do share with us your experiences (those who are brave enough to give it a go.)

I read the same article too, and thought it looked interesting.

I've not gotten round to trying it yet, but it is on my "To Do" list.

One thing LH did mention, and think it's worth pointing out too, "make sure to turn off the settings you've activated before shutting down Nimi. That's because closing the application without doing so leaves some of the effects hanging around."

The more features you add, the more hungry it becomes for memory.

Interesting project, but it somethin' that I won't use all the time or make it a "startup application"
