Scratch On My Lcd Tv.

Long story short, my sister has seem to have made a two-inch scratch on the LCD TV in my room. I (of course) googled "LCD TV Scratch" and it seems that the most ideal result is filling it with Vaseline.

However, my parents don't seem too contempt about putting Vaseline on a $1500 TV. So, does anyone have a more ideal solution that, if it doesn't fix the problem, won't damage the TV?

P.S. - We have a five-year warranty (it's a Sharp TV) but my mother is convinced the warranty won't cover scratches. Unless... someone here can prove her wrong?
