The main feature of this is the ability to make WMP hide and still play your music...without the player in your taskbar!

Usage:

Simply run this application. You can just double click on the Taskbar icon to "Show/hide" the Media Player and let your music run!

Update:

No bugs at all so far on XP SP2

Pages 2.7 mb on mine takes up no CPU even when rapidly using hotkey to hide and unhide. Great app, thanks again.

After testing out this software, I found that it doesn't seem to be the same version as the other.

PROS

It performs the same task however does so with less memory usage.

CONS

It acts as another window, doesn't hide in the system tray, and has no configurable hotkeys, which kinda defeats the point of hiding the windows media player if you replace it with another window.

Hi all,

i've recently started with Delphi again after a long break from programming. The application i have here today is called WMPHider. Version 1.0 was a private release that i used to try and lower my memory usage during gaming, while still having music playing and without having to install even more applications. Version 2.0 is a public release and is designed for use by the general public.

Today, i've updated it by using the Windows Variable to detect the Program Files Folder. Also added an about dialog and modified the show and hide buttons so that they reduce memory used by WMP even more.

This utility is designed for gamers who want music without hassle. If you want to reduce your memory usage, then i'd recommend it.

In a few weeks/months, i'm going to be releasing my own media player, one without all the hassles, for gamers, by a gamer. But until then, WMPHider to the rescue!

Comments are welcome. Feature suggestions are also welcome. I'll evaluate any that i receive and decide whether it'll be able to reduce memory usage even more.
