I do kinda, I won't go and buy lots of CD's of classical artists and things like that, yet if there's a song like maybe on a video or whatever, i'll gladly listen to it. It's very peaceful music, which is good.

Vivaldi, Dvorak, Shostakovich, Holst, Berlioz, Stravinsky, Bach, and Tchaikovsky all are rather good.
This gives me the hint that some forum members maybe are 50 years old or more. 
And there I go too... in about 10 years more I'll be listening classic music too. 
I'm a fan of classical music; and for any other classical music lover, I'd recommend you check out some NewAge music (Yanni, Kitaro etc.)
No lol I'm not over the age of 50, actually I'm a freshman in college, I'm not really a nerd parsay. I guess I began really liking and appreciating classical music when I took a class that was focused on the study of classical music. It really is very relaxing and interesting.
I listen to Mozart to help me concentrate sometimes:P If the stuff I'm learning are absolutely boring I'll put it on, don't know if it helps much but its worth a try lol And I'm 14 so...

i didn't always like classical. when i was about 25 or 26 (yes, a looooong time ago!), a friend of mine sat me down, put headphones on me, and played me something i'd never heard of before, a little piece called 'the rite of spring' by some guy named stravinsky. changed my life.
classical music is great for studying to. its really soothing and relaxing ... and no im not 50+ and yes im a nerd (we all are nerds, after all we are on a tech site)
Heheh, I feel odd then. I usually study with electronic, repetitive music (without singer, else I engage with the letter of the song). This is the only way I know I can concentrate and study.
But maybe I'll give classical music a try. If it's useful for so many students, it may help me too.

I'm just as much a "beginner", but I like Mozart probably the best. Next Beethoven, and after him Bach I guess. Holst is also very good in my opinion.

this is a tough one. i think most people would point you towards mozart, bach, beethoven. it depends on what your aesthetic is: do you like brittany spears? start with mozart. do you like frank zappa? start with stravinsky. do you like enya? start with debussy. do you like hip-hop? there's no hope for you.

It changed my life too, and I was the same age as you. did you listened "Transfigurated Night" by Schönberg? I'm pretty sure you did, but if you didn't, well... do it. there is a word (that I can't recall) that defines what I feel when I listen this songs but I think one word is not enough...
I listen all kinds of music though (quoting Futurama "from A.A. Milne to Z.Z. Top" ), I am a singer and try to compose little classical pieces but without any good results.
