Samsung Hd In Mac?

I might be getting an iMac, I have a 10GB HD and I wanna use it in that, is that posible?

Almost any recent, last 3 or 4 years, off the shelf IDE HD will work in a Mac.

Since I don't know how old your drive is, I can't say for sure.

But it's possible.

Apple stopped branding the firmware on their HD's when they switched from SCSI to IDE, so it really doesn't matter who made the drive.

Just as long as it meets or exceeds the minimum standards of the system, it should work.

i dont think an iMac has room for a second hard drive, but you can sure put it in a firewire enclosure and use it as an external drive.

if you want it to be internal, you will have to get a powermac g4 (cuz i think the G5 comes with SCSI as standard? i could be wrong...)

@sakasune: Where did you exume this info.? back to SCSI?!?! I dont think it's a wise thing to go back to a lower drive interface! Unless Apple has found a magical NE and IMPROVED version of Scuzzy (Just like Apple sometimes).

Actually, I thought about replacing the other HD inside of it, but thats a good point, i didn't thing of that. And I forgot to mention, I'm buying a CLASSIC iMac...
