[Request] Is There A Wallpaper Fader/switcher App?

Was looking for an app that would fade between wallpapers in a dir like on OS X, but couldn't find one, someone must have done one. Anyone know of one?

Wallpaper changer will only change the wallpaper, it will not fade between them...unfortunately

Let me know if you find some program that do the fades!

I remember searching everywhere for a fader a while back. Never found one but heard that flash would be a way, though a memory hog. There's a screensaver that will do it, so why not a wallpaper changer app? Hmmm....

I think I read somewhere that MACs process things differently from PCs, so they can have that going on in the background while other stuff is going on in the foreground. Maybe that has something to do with it. Anybody know the details?

By the way, this is just a thought. Please don't flame me. :canadian:

Have you guys seen the Flurry port at Sourceforge? When you run it, it fades for a second or two - from the desktop to the dark saver... So I fell it's possible to have the fader effect in Windows.

Maybe, we should talk to that guy and ask him to port the OS X fading pictures screensaver? :rolleyes:

It's certainly possible to have an app that fades between WPs.. using it as wallpaper, though, that's tricky. >.

If it's a screensaver you want, check here; if it's an app for wallpaper changing, then I'm at a loss for words. But maybe someone could persuade the author of those screensavers?

I used for a while a combination of Nostalgic screensaver pointing to my wallpaper folder & litestep with the saver module to use the screensaver as my desktop bg (I belive you could find a similar app that doesn't requires litestep to do the screensaver-as-background trick)

However, it is *very* cpu intensive (like 65%-80% of usage on my computer)

there is a program called Moving Desktop that is supposed to do it.

i've never had any luck with it tho.

perhaps because i used the trial version.
