Aqua-Soft ForumsI've been looking around for a while, and I have yet to find anything that provides the functionality of the Smart Folders feature of Mac OS X. If my head is just full of boulders and I missed something, please let me know. I'm not sure if the real reason for a lack of Smart Folder knock-offs is the fact that Smart Folders in Mac OS X uses the amazingness of Spotlight, and such resources are lacking or completely missing in XP/Vista.
If someone would be nice enough to create a Smart Folders clone for us Windownians (Especially one that played nice with XP :]) I would be more than happy to help with testing, seeing as I can't program at all, let alone tie my shoes.
That last bit was a joke. I hope...
Anyway, the kind of functionality I might like to see would be something like this: A folder type apperatus which would allow me to define certain things (Name contains/does not contain, File type is/is not, date created/modified, ect...) and the contents of said folder would have to meet said criteria. I don't mind if it's not dynamic (if I would have to click a "Refresh" button) so long as I can create a virtual folder to see only documents that I want to see based on the set conditions.
And so on.
