Hey im talking about the www.pixelpress.com icons..
I know i once had them uncompressed, but i tried downloading all the versions off the authors site but he doesn't have zip compression.
i downloaded stuff it to expand the hqx/sit files but they always come out corrupted even after i tried to download them multiple times!!

Click on the download link and when it prompts you for download confirmation, remove the following from the file name: "-binhex.hqx". With the file now named: "PP-PixelFengShuiXP.zip", save and extract.
i already converted those ages ago with permission...he then changed his mind i believe. might still have the .rar around

i tried your method smith and it doesn't seem to fix the prob.
i have the latest versions of stuffit, and winrar and they both don't like the files.

The latest version of Stuffit (version 8 I believe) doesn't unsit the files that well. You need an older version of Stuffit. See this thread.

I don't understand the conversion talk; there's a set specifically noted for Windows XP available on the site 
yeah, look at hush66 link... you need stuffit7(not the latest version) to download the windows version.
anyone get the problem of transparency(ie.the shadows) being crap on these ico's
is this a prob. with the windows version download, or stuffits expansion settings?
do the converted from apple format icons you guys have done suffer the same problem?

I don't think it's Stuffit Expander that's causing the transparency problem. What are you using to convert the Mac icns format to Windows ico format?

The Windows pack only contains icons of sizes 16x16, 32x32 and 48x48.

the transparency appears to look fugly in the thumbnail but when its used as an icon its perfect.
oh, sorry hush66 i only used the windows version, but after reading your last post i assume there's higher res versions in the mac download... so i'll just convert that one and figure see what happens with trans. thx.
