I don't know exactly know to fix it, but my uncle has a Macbook Pro just like that and he spilt a drink on it, and he tapped the spacebar rapidly a few times and it worked fine again (And all his keys). That was probably a fluke, but still try it :P

yea i did that.. it works for sometimes but then it comes back to that problem again.. i think its because of the stickiness in the 7up that makes it..

So then rip off the space bar and use googone to get rid of the stickyness.

you;re kiddin right? and i dunno how to rip it off...

#520694

Pull the key upwards until it pops off.

sure it wont break.. and i think the trackpad button has the same problem.. but be sure about it. Because if you are not.. i will be ****ed

You can pop on and off keyboard keys like no one's business, they're designed to do that.

#520709

doing that because you are telling me .. oh god knows i love my mbp. :D

I've heard about it before, people removing and putting back the keys with no problem.

I remove keys from my desktop pc keyboard, and my pc notebook, each about one or two months to clean the keys.

I dunno if macs behave the same, but I guess it does.

Or you can try voiding your warranty with a screwdriver (I mean: disassemble your mbp) and get the keyboard back out after getting also the hard drives, memory and other pieces...

I guess you'd be better with getting the keys out. You can try putting a screwdriver under the spacebar and pulling it out. You shouldn't need to pull too much before it just jumps out.

Edit

Cleaning mbp keys the hard way (dissassembling everything back to front up to reaching the keyboard)

Take apart the keyboard (go to page 40)

The easy way: just remove keys as everyone is suggesting you here :)

Dont worry guys.. thanks for all of this.. but by the time you guys posted this i was bzy following Animm3al (previosly phantom, really pete..:P) 's instructions and got my keys fixed just by ripping them and then fixed then back in after cleaning.. its really no problem if you have that lil pointy screw driver.

there are alot of youtube videos which shows you how to do this..

Thanks pete!
