@Matonga:

Esta petición sería perfecta para resubir algunos skins que perdí en la versión anterior del XWD:

Sería muy amable de su parte si hiciera que este editor fuese capaz de leer/editar skins de versiones pasadas.

POR FAVOOOR!!! C=

@EVERYBODY:

Do you know what would be great for this editor?:

I'd like it to be able to read/edit old skin versions, like XWD5.2.1 skins.

I think it would be useful to make skins repacks, and recover some missed skins.

@Mattey:

Ya había pensado en esto. Lamentablemente se me ocurren solo dos alternativas:

In english:

I already thought about it. I can only think about two possible ways:

1. To have many versions of XSkinMaker.exe (one for each past version of the dock) and try each one until being able to open the skin.

2. When the skin is not valid, try to at least extract .png files the hard way.

I'll probably implement the second one.

The best alternative would be to have Bobah implement XSkinMaker.exe /u in such way that it can decompile skins from previous versions.

In english:

You're right. This is the best option.

Anyway it would be very useful if there were any changes in a new version of the "Config.txt".

Should we wait for an update for 5.4?

#520751

It sorta works with 5.4 but the new pngs (reflection masks, stack borders) aren't being extracted. All Matonga has to do is also extract the new pngs ;)

Hi Matonga, didn't really work.. hm. maybe you should re-upload the 5.4 version? or did I do somthing wrong?

(the editor worked, but 5.4 failed to recognize the newly created skin)

Gracias man!

#520889

Thanks Matonga for the update ^^

Same problem over here! Everything works fine apart from actually applying the skin, XWD doesn't recognize it at all.

@godiex, suckingfaces:

Ok, I've tried it and it works fine here, so... ???

- Are you sure you're using XWD 5.4?

- Did you put all images in, including grid borders and reflection masks?

- Did you place XWDSkinEditor.exe into C:Program FilesXWindows DockTools? (or wherever XSkinMaker.exe is, also take into account for XWD 5.4 the editor uses Default.smxd instead of Skin.smxd for new skins)

Other than that, I've no idea why is it not working for you.

Definitely using 5.4, but I have completely overlooked the masks and grid borders! Thanks matonga.

#520916

hm. I downloaded the new version a few times, but I still can't make it work.. for some reason the skin editor seems to be the same as before (when I click on "new" it tries to open "skin.smxd" and not "default.smxd") maybe I should uninstall something from the old skin maker? ...I'm a little lost...)

when I make it open a Skin.smxd to create a "new" skin, it doesn't create files for borders, masks, or anything else. except the basic components. So definitively it's stuckin 5.2.3...

thanks matonga
