I just did some building, testing and reading and have discovered that the Mac II emulation that provides mini vmac with color does NOT support sound. Indeed, trying to play a sound will crash the emulator.
I've built the program for wx86 many times with lots of options, and the best I could get it to do was emulate in color but not crash when sound is played. This would be the ultimate classic mac emulation program if it had the 256 colors and sound in my opinion - it's nice to know they're not far off the track. Also it tells me the option for the experimental processor type is not valid. I can do the 68020 emulation though, and all of my games ran just fine with it, so it isn't as buggy as the site says it is. It simply needs sound. What is the reason for sound not existing even with sound "enabled?"
Another source of classic emulation is an old build of Basilisk II.
