Why is there an appearance control panel in any Mac OS ? It's useless. The brushed look is old and I would think Steve would be tired of the color grey, or silver. I installed an app for Safari called "inquisitor", and it has a "quicklook" style window that shows up with search options. I noticed Adobe has a media player in which the entire interface is close to "quicklook". It looks much better compared to the brushed silver appearance. It would be a novel idea for all finder windows to have the "quicklook" interface instead of brushed silver. Even better, is the option to change the look of finder windows and the entire brushed look interface using the appearance control panel. Does anyone know of any apps that are capable of such ? Shapeshifter does not work in Leopard and "quicklook" style windows isn't an option with Shapeshifter using previous versions of OS X.
