Windows Won't Remember Choices...

Hey all, I'm having a bit of a problem with two options in Windows: the option to have windows become animated when you minimize/maximize them and the option to have menu's fade in and out when you click them. The first one (min/max anim) is never slected after i restart Windows, but if I re-select it stays on and works. The second (menu fade in/out) never stays selected after I click "apply" I've tried changing it in all three places I know of (MyComp/Advanced/Perform/Settings; TweakUI; and Display Properties), but it just will not stay on and thus won't work. I have a feeling WindowFX may be behind this but I don't know for certain. Anyone know how I can fix these two things? Thanks so much for any help.

I removed all the transitions using WinFX cause i hate them... what i did was to enable state transitions and select no animations for everything under transitions. I think if you disable state transitions you would get your windows transitions back.

I didn't have state transitions enabled anyway (I don't even have WinFX running). But, just for the heck of it, I started it up and enabled them, set them all to none, then turned them off, then unloaded WinFX. Still didn't work though Thanks for the suggestion though.
