Well, it isn't the exact genie effect, but there is a minimze effect on Rocketdock.

Make sure you have the latest vesion (1.3.5)

You can download it on http://www.rocketdock.com

I don't think the authors often read posts on aqua-soft. The used to have a very active forum, but they perhaps got tired of managing it and stopped it.

For the moment Rocketdock developement is on standby as they are seeing to other projects. I don't know when they will release a new version.

Well, thanks for the answer chatpristi :) in fact, i already have the rocketdock minimze effect (V 1.3.0), but as you can see, the effect is just a window resize, there is no effect like the genie aspiration :)

what makes you use RocketDock over RKlauncher?

I personally like RK over RocketD an even over OD, one fact being that you can put an indicator to the explorer.exe linked to "My pc" :P

Maybe RK is the one for you! ;)

RK's options, frankly, are crap, the "add new apps to dock" function, at leas on my PC, is horribly broken (Adds every running process... wut?), and the genie effect is slow (not in framerate, it's just slooooooow, functionality>eyecandy).

However, if you're used to it, it's probably just as good as the rest ;)

i actually use that option to see every running proccess haha, i just put them on the exclusion list (right click on the icon and "never show in dock".

I personally dont use the genie effect, but ive tested it and it works really good on my laptop, if it were to fast i wouldnt have time to appreciate the effect, and its not tooo slow either :P

But yeah, if you preffer rocket dock then is good, each to his own, as long as you are happy!

gl on finding the genie effect on RD then ;)

Well, to be honest, i never tried RKlauncher, because when i looked for a dock, the rocketdock one was so much closer to osx one ^^ Rocketdock is fine for me, but i need to see RKlauncher in action to have a better opinion of it :) in addition to that, most of forums make Rocketdock the number one because it seems to have more configuration options than its counterpart RKlauncher :)

Just three things that make RHL nearer to OSX than Rocketdock:

1. You have an exclusion list, so you can turn off i.e. the popupwindows of some programs to minimize to the dock (Finderbar, Antivir, ...)

2. If you minimize in Rocketdock the window goes to the far right, right beside the dustbin. In RKL it goes left of the dustbin, like in OSX.

3. You can use YZ-docklets and Objectdock docklets. There are some really good YZ-docklets.

RKl is way closer to the os-x dock, I'll admit.

Personally I tried (an still try) all docks available.

I used to be very fond of Y'z Dock even years after it stopped being developed

Then I found Rocketdock, which I've been following ever since.

I tried Objectdock foar a while, but Id never convinved me (too bulky, or bloated, not so smooth)

I also tried RK launcher but I kept hoping it would become better but Raduking seems to have given it up (it's a shame)

Anyhow, so far, Rocketdock is the best for me in terms of stabily, smoothness and usability.

BUT...

Bobah's new Xwindows Dock looks very promising although it seems too greedy for my computer.

may sound weird... but...

what is the target of "computer" for vista?

deleted once... want to revive it again...

any idea?

thank you

#512645

sorry...

problem solved...

than you

#512647

well well well... I tried RkLauncher and... i'll wait for a Rockdock Genie effect release :P

#512831

Try XWindows Dock

#525653

use the RK launcher, I personally like Rocket dock because its easier to customize the dock to the way I like it, but 4, u obviouly want to emulate mac, use RK launcher.

#525664

use xwindow dock..

;)

#525974

xwindows dock is good, but its still isn't that good, and when u minimize the windows all look like squares, not screen shots, like genie effect is supposed to be.

#525990

Sorry to revive this thread, but is there any plugin now for the Genie effect on RocketDock? I used to use XWD but (maybe it's just me) but eats A LOT of RAM.

Thanks for a reply.
