Organizing your data HDDs

Being on the final stage of getting a new iMac I have faced a tough question of organizing my data.

Since iMac in my place will be equiped with 320 Gbs, I'm desperately need your advise.

Right now I have 3 internal HDDs:

1) 1Tb - for videos

2) 500 Gb - for music and audiobooks

3) 320 Gb - for photos and prints

Since iMaс has only one USB left (one USB for iPod and second for keyboard. I don't want to have bluetooth one as it is not good for the health) and 2 FireWire - 400 and 800, I have only 3 ports.

If you faced some kind of a problem or have an interesting advise, please. you are welcome. How do you organize your stuff and how much you have for it. What is the smart way out ?

That's a freaking HUGE amount of space, I'm impressed.

I'm assuming your internal HD's are on PC or another Mac.

I did have a similar problem, however my iMac didn't have a big internal drive and didn't want to clog it up with useless stuff, so I networked it to my PC, including music, pictures etc. I event had iTunes run over the network without any problem, well maybe I forgot to switch the PC on which did throw it a curve ball.

I meant I didn't have duplicates of everything, plus it kept my Mac nice and clean.

If you got all your stuff organized already no point on creating more work for yourself.

well, I thought about having PC as file store but I'm too fed up with that huge box which will have to be on all time. Moreover I'm going to sell it. Maybe I should buy another 1 Tb and have audio and photos on it ? But again I will need the third one for back ups. Okay. I'll be very glad to any suggestions and your personal experience.

After searching a bit I have found another very cute way: NAS - LAN external box for 1, 2 or even 4 HDDs
