Object bar smoothness?

object bar help ? anyone

I really want to know how people with windows xp, got the finder bar... with the really really smooth crisp font like a real os x

they said it's really windows but they're desktop looks exactly like an OSX

I already know they use object bar, but my real question is

How did they get the font to be that smooth??

if anyone can give me which theme to use for objectbar, and window blinds that'll be great!!

check out deviantart for some smooth font bars, also check if your display properties are set up for your monitor.

gdi is a program (i believe) that changes the font smoothing style for windows. It makes the font soo blurry it makes you think you need glasses to read them :/...

Im fine with the Vista's default + SegoeUI :)

Not true. Maybe you should try changing the settings, or actually get some glasses. My font smoothing is fine with GDI++.

No man, i dont need glasses :)

The thing was that i downloaded, ran it and my first impression was "omg no, DELETE; DELETE!". Then i saw a guy that uploaded his configuration options and wanted to give it a try again, but nope.

I guess it is just way to blurry for my taste, besides, i dont like a resident program running on backround...

Hi Siik,

I've made a theme for Objectbar, "Greyhound", which is available on my dA page:

http://poulnyrup.deviantart.com/art/Greyho...ectbar-94014555

In the package I've given a detailed description on - among other things - how to get GDI++ up and running. Before leaving this board however, you might like to check out this thread here at AS:

Ojalord has made an excellent installer for GDI++ - see post 13 in this thread...

Hope some of this helps. :)

Actually, the smooth font in Objectbar can be achieved without GDI++.

Many OB themes used to ship with a customized version of Lucida Grande called OBFONT. Try searching the forums here for it. Once you install it, you may need to edit your .obtheme file to use it.

Unfortunately, this font does not lend itself well to use as a system font. To get accurate system fonts, you will still have to use a combination of Lucida Grande and GDI++.

Hope that helps. :)

EDIT:

I have time to spare so I've tracked it down for you. Also make sure that ClearType is enabled and properly setup on your system.
