System Fonts

I need some help. I need to know how to change general system fonts on windows xp,

as in, underneath fonts and generally any writing around the os.

Cheers much:d

The System fonts are generally inbuilt with the operating systems and they cannot be changed. New fonts can be added as and when required. Too many fonts may take a load of memory

or,

via registry hack (back-up first)

On XP,

-go to Registry Editor...

-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>Windows NT>Current Version>FontSubstitutes

-change the values (font names) of MS Shell Dlg and MS Shell Dlg 2 and restart.

Be ready to reap the consequences, specially if you use a font with wider dimensions (e.g Tahoma vs. Verdana). Some dialog boxes and 3rd party app boxes will be messed up.
