RKlauncher starts with GDi+ window :(

since some time I have a problem with RKl.

Everytime I start RKl a window pops up "GDI+ Window" in my taskbar. I cant get rid of it.

I loaded from the net a precompiled RKlauncher_XP.exe with lots of icons and stack.docklet etc. and then I had the problem that a "FINDER window" appeared in centre of my desktop. I couldnt close that else than by closing RKl.

so I got from here the bare 'original' RKl packet (beta) and put that in a new and clear folder. But guess what happend after reboot (windows XP PRO sp3 ...)?

The GDI+ Window appeared again

What is the cause?

Someone else experience with that?

Sorry, but that bugs me and I want the functionality of RKl back cause it is right next to

"launcher" my fav tool!

Have I described my problem in an less clear way or does noone know what I mean because

noone else has ever experienced this behaviour?

Not too sure what's happening here, I've never had a problem with RK.

Have you completely removed the original version of Rk you had installed, including any registry entries. I know some of these packs can be a real pain in the butt to remove.

Have you excluded the original from starting too. If you've got CCleaner use this to find out what's starting at boot up, you maybe able to disable it.

Has this problem always been there, if not what's changed?

I assume you can't roll back using system restore?

I followed your advice and deinstalled rklauncher, deleted everthing in relation and did a manual (regcrawler) reg cleaning and the problem still remains.

I downloaded newesest gdiplus.dll from MS and put that into system32 and rklauncher folder but no change :/

I have no clue why this problem came up but it is totally anoying.

'ProcessExplorer' shows clearly that RKl opens a thread with gdiplus.dll and as said each time I start RKl (I just installed the newest beta from here into a clear folder) this window resists in my taskbar :/

I cant rollback without lots of other trouble at the moment.

I belive that the problem is in relation with the fact that I once installed this precompiled RKlauncher pack from an other site. And perhaps that I did install a 'vists' 'Version'. anyway

it could be that that is the source for my troubles because I am using a German windows version with

different paths to folders than a English version and ofcourse I am not using Vista (

Anyway I have no clue to get that problem solved. May be a new fresh RKlauncher installer could help where I can point to MY folders....

I got an installer from http://windowsedge.com/forums/index.php?sh...pic=2458&st=160. I hope it is ok to post it here.

This allowed me to choose where I want to install and problem is gone!

I am so happy that I can go on with RKlauncher because it is the only tool other than yzdock that I can use with my fav dock 'comics' with 'get fuzzy'!
