Opera 7.20 Beta 7 Out Now...

Hi all,

I am aware that there are several Opera web browser users on the forum, myself included, so I thought I would post this for their benefit.

Opera software released Opera 7.20b7Win today and I must say, Opera was fast before and it is extremely fast now.

I've been using the new beta for the last hour and I'm very impressed with it. It seems to be relatively bug free for beta software.

Opera's press release is available here: http://www.opera.com/pressreleases/en/2003/08/28/

And Opera 7.20b7 Win is available here: http://www.opera.com/download/index.dml?pl...dows&ver=7.20b7

Bling,

Grusic

P.S. If you don't use Opera please don't reply with comments like "blah, blah, blah is so much better, faster, lighter etc etc". We don't want to read it.

This is the first time I've tried Opera, and I can say it really fast. It makes me believe that I have a special 56k connection

Thanks Grusic for pointing Opera out for us ;)

You right Grusic, everything seems to load faster and smoother for me now. It was really worth updating. Thank you for the info!

I gave it a whirl and it seemed Ok, so I searched the board for some skins. Found Fer's awesome skins but they crash whenever I select them; is anybody else having a bad case of the opera crashes? or is it just me? :joystick:

It's still not getting me off MyIE2... but it's almost there (Y)

I used to use Opera quite extensively, until my boss "scolded" me for designing a funny-layout-website for a client..

(since as u all know sometimes Opera and IE produce different views)

So I switched back to MyIE2 ... :(

thanks for a great link, Grusic :) I've been Opera user for a while, and I can say - this browser rocks like no one other :)

Grusic, could you say please - may I install it over my previous Opera beta4? Or I have to do a full reinstall?

Oh, BTW - are there any Opera high-quality icons available in the net?

#51538

Sounds great.

Im thinking of swithching to opera.

But some questions:

What about the plugins or special toolbars for IE?

- Flash

- Download Accelerator / getright

Will those be avalibable thru Opera?

I really need those features.

mr lovejonez,

Opera supports and is compatible with all the well known web extensions and plugins.

I have yet to run into a plugin that it will not work with, but then again I do use any of the more esoteric ones.

I just tried out a few pages I've written, using Opera. The browser leaves margins where I didn't intend them to, but the pages look fine in FB and IE.

I realize Opera renders w/ its own engine, but are there ways to "fix" this?

Check out my site @ http://mime.ryme.net and select 'red' or 'gra' on the menu to change the stylesheet.
