and each time I start the avedesk.exe file, it crashes saying that file d3dx9_36.dll is missing.
What can I do to correct this?
I'm running Vista ( came with the laptop, pre-installed )

Just because you're a woman doesn't mean you can't make me a sandwich download a simple file. Google "download d3dx9_36.dll".

Guys. Surely the fact that file is missing means there's a problem somewhere, and simply downloading that file is just delaying the inevitable?
Have you tried reinstalling dx?

Actually that's all that's needed to fix it. Works like everytime.

... Install DX 9 on Vista (now is compatible)
