Some interesting points... granted.
But theres a few things to remember... Apple has grown from being a product owned by the elitist and mac fanboys to a platform easily accessible by the average joe.
In the early days of Mac OSX & iPod finding its feet there was a just as big percentage of bugs associated with each release. Each sequential release has squashed these, but with new features comes more....Fanboys wouldnt dare admit there was faults with the Macs... average Joes will.
Lets look at what Apple has accomplished since Jobs return in (1999?)... The iMac, Mac OS X, iPod and iPhone along with a whole range of tie ins. These are all very ambitious projects.
Each release has had its faults but overall has been a mostly successful release (one exception being the Cube).
"The Fall of the Apple Empire"... Now thats a little Melodramatic isn't it?
Especially with the negative 'hype' surrounding Microsoft (Xbox 360 and Vista issues) Apple is gaining popularity not only for its cool factor, but also for its simplicity and percieved greater 'stability'... Which perhaps has faultered slightly with its recent large scale projects.
I think now its time for Apple to shift its focus. The time is not right for Apple to take on anything new or ambitious. Refinement of an already stellar product line is what we will see.
One such example is Snow Leopard where Apple plans to focus not on new features but rather on stability and the core of the Mac OS. What better time?
What can we expect to see though in terms of new products?
New iPods have been rumoured, and its probably about time. iPods are a safe choice and Apple will no doubt make some worthwhile changes... most likely cosmetic and capacity related.
Perhaps we will see 'iTunes unlimited" with Apple's firm grounding with the iTunes store, this would be easy enough to master as well... Yet still enough to please the masses.
I think Apple is very much on track, just they've taken a slight turn... Just they've released a lot of ambitious products recently, and need to refine some of thier formula.
Lol Peter idk how me using names would be beneficial to my argument, but alright?
And hypocritical, you know what i'm talking about ![]()
Actually, I don't. Please elaborate, unless... well, of course, that there isn't any logic at all.
I would exclaim something that involves God and F* word in once sentence, but I won't since that would be blasphemy (also I think it against AS rules).
Anyway... this friggin' thread is based on illogical article by some idiot at a company which is on the brink of fall, and ya'all kids are having friggin' illogical argument.
Even then it's NOT on topic but as usual Vista-Love-Vista-Hate arguments.
You guys should consider yourself lucky... that Unbe is no-longer around. Had the legend been here, you kids would have burned on daily basis for the racket you make around here.
Yeh, that's right... DAILY Friggin BASIS. Those who know Unbe, knows what I mean. Those who don't, you should be scared.
I've only one thing to say for now... TFSU.
(if you don't know what that means... go google it)

Amen to that iGo.
Every OS has it's good points and it's bad points, and every OS has it's fans and haters. This subject has been done to death all over the net, (and here, god knows how many times) there is is never any winner or loser, live with it.
My name is iGo, and not only do I know more about the site and site history, I'm better than you, so shut it.
Fix'd.
**** Unbe, we're here to argue.
For all you know UNBE could come out from lurking in the shadows at any time with a badd ass flame thrower in hand ready to burn baby burn all the nooblets into crisps.
Edit- Be afraid, very afraid. (I am)
He sounds like an awesome version of hitler.
How amazing can he be if he completely abandoned his forum?
Hitler abandoned germany.

@Phoshi & Kawsquared:
Say what you want. I never said that I am better than everyone else. But If you stop for a second and think about it, you'll have agree that the whole vista discussion in this thread was unnecessary. Hence my comments.
As for Unbeliever and Hitler comparison. Unbe was nothing like that. Yes, everybody feared him, but also everyone respected him. He was strict no doubt about it. But he also kept this forum in line. He believed in keeping things in order and discussion on topic. If he was a hitler this thread would have been locked after post #7.
He didn't abandon this forum at his own will... As you grow in life and career, your priorities change. He just got busy in work and life. Even after certain period of inactivity he would come back and be around. Maybe when he would get enough time in future to consider AS, he would come back.
I'm not sure but you guys haven't noticed any aggresive moderation lately in this forum. Tim is already busy maintaining site and other things in life, so are Jeff and Seph... But that doesn't make them any less important part of AquaSoft. So is Unbe, even when he's not around you cannot ignore his contribution to this community. Trust me, Moderating a forum is not an easy task as one might think.
Jef is never around either -- and Seph hasn't been admin for a while now...
Anyways, I'm with iGo on this.
Of course you are, my little brown noser.
Anyone can be a ****. There's a difference between fear and respect.
There's a difference between fear and respect.
Correct. Those who were sensible to understand purpose of AquaSoft had mad respect for Unbe.
Those who were childish to poop around to forum, grew fear of Unbe.
Those who seem to have none.... well. No point describing it.
I've no more say on this thread.
There isn't aggressive moderation here.
Is there ANY need at all?
Sure, the Vista discussion may not be strictly outlined in the first post as somewhere it's quite clear to speak of, but if anybody had been reprimanded for having it, I would lose a lot of respect for these forums.
Moderation is good, being a Nazi is bad. This Unbe sounds far too strict from what I've heard.
(Though a little extra moderation might help - mainly with speed things, like that spammer guy)
Damn, you people need to get your shit straight. Seriously, if Unbe would just log onto this thread right now and flame me, by all means - ask him to come here. I'll get extensive lulz out of seeing a 20 something year old attempt at arguing with me. The only ups he would have is the fact that he's a moderator.
And besides the fact, I enjoy the laid back moderating of AS, it makes it much more enjoyable.
Also I'm no longer a News Poster, fair enough I guess.
That's a bit harsh innit?
can I take his place :3
EDIT: ROFL, that was supposed to be small XD
Go for it ![]()
Phoshi: PM me.
lol, ok ![]()
I honestly have no idea where you got that information from. They're mostly focusing on performance and stability related issues. There are however some GUI changes in 10.6 Server. They've brought a rounded menubar back, the new dock is black, and I believe they changed the scrollbars. I'm not sure if this will be in the non-Server edition though.
I forgot to quote that XD Thanks for doing it.
