Nip/Tucking Mac & PC
Windows
-It needs a simpler, more efficient UI for the most part. The overall style of Windows is just completely unproductive. It could also use some touching up in the graphics area, as its Fisher-Price styled Luna theme and Aero just do not cut it. The Basic style with antialiased edges would have been absolutely perfect.
-It needs personalized color profiles.
-User Account Control needs to be more customizable, with options as to what it asks you about.
Linux
-It needs to be more user-friendly. The typical user does not want to use terminal commands to get basic things done like installing drivers and such.
-There's a lot of stability issues that need to be fixed in some distros, like Ubuntu.
OS X
-It needs a more powerful file browser, like Windows Explorer.
-It needs a better method of antialiasing fonts, like Windows ClearType.
-It needs to be made easily available to non-Apple systems.
Windows:
- XP and bitmaps are just ugly. I don't know what they were thinking with Luna, either.
- Probably a little bit more of stability.
- Better applications, I mean... IE and Outlook are just plain.. :|
OS X -
-The mouse needs a ****ing right click button. An original Applez mouse with a right click button.
-A better voice command system.
-A better right click menu.
-Simpler extensive customizing engine (for leopard, i know most of you will say "LULZ KAWSQUARED R U FORGETTING CORE UI OR WHATEVER", and to those people, **** you.)
Winders -
-Better security. Switch to UNIX core already.
-Better unified look.
-Completely redesigned UI.
-Better font smoothing.
Lunicks -
Eh, who gives a shit about Lunix.

-Cheaper
-Better performance
OS X
-Easier right clicking?

-Less Terminal commands
-Better/more driver support, if possible

Windows needs better font antialiasing? I have seen nothing better than ClearType.
Uh no, Laptops still have one button. **** Ctrl+Click.ClearType? LOL
my macbook; 2figure+click, I'd take that over two buttons any day.
& I never found cleartype to as good as whatever 'antialiasing' os x uses, especially on 50+ font sizes
Windows:
Nicer UI.
3rd party themes allowed by default.
Full control over the DWM, not just thumbnails.
A box that pops up when someone first starts Vista saying "This is not bloat, this is a modern OS".
Linux:
****ing drivers.
Bloody command line.
Flipping difficult to get anything working.
OS X:
Needs to be open to all PCs (Regardless of how much slower that would make it)
More apps.

Being on a non-Apple PC wouldn't slow it down the least bit.
I disagree, it's coded for the hardware it's on.
For it to be able to run on other hardware, it would need to use an abstraction layer to determine what it is and access it. Which would slow it down.
It's like how consoles get more stuff out of them than PC of the same spec, a PC is using an abstraction layer like DirectX or OpenGL.
The hardware that it's on is no different from a generic Intel PC's hardware. Same processors, same video cards, same memory, same hard drives, same sound cards, and same power supplies.
Aye, but put it on the 'wrong' hardware and it bugs up and crashes, right?

Mac:
- You rarely need to use finder, a shame because coverflow etc is brilliant.
- You have to rely on itunes, iphoto etc to sort your files... which are great, but I like to do things my way... and it sorts folders in finder a funny way- hard for windows integration.
- Unexpected quits are unexpected. No autosave in programs like pages... though it can be fixed by reinstalling apps.
^ I wish iphoto and itunes became part of the finder... and that the finder became more contextualised... if you go into "pictures" folder for example, iphoto would become the finder.
XP
- Default Luna theme. Its showing its age (someone mentioned fisher and paykel)... Yes media center theme was divine.
- Crapware. Not so much Microsoft's fault... but PC manufacturers. Sure it can be removed, but it annoys me when I use a noobs computers and its so slow..
- Noob users who fail at understanding XP.
- Lack of a search bar. Such a golden feature needed in every window. Desktop search just doesnt cut it. Vista fixed this problem.
- The start menu. Especially when it gets disorganised. Who seriously likes using that cascading menu? specially when theres three columns of it. Vista fixed this problem.
Vista.
- Too many dialogues.
- Too many useless 'diagnostic' programs.
- Too many useless buttons.
- Too many useless features.
^ cut all of that out and get it out of my face... admittedly users can do this, but for most noobs, they'd rather just complain and jump on the "I hate vista, vista sux" bandwagon.
- I hate the gloss. Its sort of there but not all the way... its gross, like a bad WMP skin... its sort of like sour milk thats gone slightly greeny white and still has a bit of shine to it... just doesnt work.
- I hate the start button. Its just stupid.
^ Bring in a totally new theme. Glass can be o-k... but is overused in vista. Also theres too many window sections that it just doesnt look clean. Bring back the original vista theme seen in early screenshots.
Also I wish to add my frustration... the "Wow" does not start now. In fact I had trouble getting World of Warcraft to run after several driver conflicts... double entendre.

Linux
- Never used it.
- Can see no benefit in using it, except for geek factor... and the fact that "anything is possible" in open source...
- Lacks wow factor in the GUI.

Lulz? Dude, you need to do some serious research. Everytime you make a technical statement you are always so bluntly incorrect.
One mouse button on my Mac is fine and dandy. Apple's touchpad is brilliant. Two finger scrolling, Two finger right-clicking, multitouch. Who needs a button when you can click with two fingers...?
And about the two-finger scrolling -- On Windows systems that have the seperate section on the touchpad for scrolling, you know what that does? It simulates scrolling on a scroll-wheeled mouse. You know what two-finger scrolling does on a Mac? It scrolls *with* your fingers. (mac users, you know what I'm talking about.)
