Leaked new MacBook?

[newsimg]http://www.aqua-soft.org/media/news/0ced2bb46596352f4a592660a6b2e219.jpg[/newsimg]

Could these be images of the upcoming MacBook (or completely 'shopped)? Possibly, if you believe information leaked from a Taiwanese website. Despite falling in line with rumors that the new MacBooks would be decked out in aluminum like the Pros, these images are confusing and could be Photoshopped so, as always, take rumors like this with a grain of salt.

[Thanks, Appleowner]

It looks like a broken laptop screen.

eww

#506702

I hope to hell not.

I need to buy a macbook before this month's over...

#506705

@quadz0, It's a laptop screen frame, you moron. :P

@phantom.. dude, please also put link to original article. So people can see other pics as well. Instead of thinking "provided" pic is some radical new design. lol.

There's the link. I really don't see what your problems are with that design, in terms of it's beauty.

Whether or not it's shopped, I don't think so. It could however be a modified case from another laptop.

For an English version go here: http://www.macrumors.com/2008/08/04/leaked...m-macbook-case/

Apple.pro has posted new photos (via Engadget) of what are claimed to be the new MacBook casings. Apple.pro was the Taiwanese blog that previously posted photographs of prototype MacBook Pro casings that were later believed to be real.

The latest collection of photos reportedly depict the upcoming MacBook revision which is expected in late September. The photos depict the top half of the MacBook's casing without any electronic components. The glow-in-the-dark Apple logo remains in place in these images. The case is made of aluminum and resembles the MacBook Air casing.

what is Taiwanese website? is not it written in traditonal Chinese? never heard there is a language called taiwanese.

#506742

wind,

a Taiwanese website may mean a website either hosted, or affiliated with Taiwan. 'Taiwanese' may denote residence/citizens of Taiwan. Nobody is implying (above) that there is a language called Taiwanese.

I dont get it... whats the white thing on the screen meant to be?

I'd be screaming fake, except... that white thing has me intrigued- it doesnt look like a random fanboy design.

But I find the design in the first post U.G.L.Y

Oh cm'on man... it's a friggin' display frame. The white part that you see is most probably a light diffuser used to lit up the apple logo on back. The display and backlight assembly fits in that recessed part of frame. Is it really that hard to understand.. or people just love to go on screamin' ugly and p'shopped every time something like this comes out.

Just remember kids... the words of people calling "fake" and "photoshopped" when Nano fatty and apple Keyboard pics were leaked.

#506822

Not very convincing...

I have yet to see what's not convincing (of course I don't think it is convincing, but its not not convincing) or ugly about this. It looks exactly like something Apple would use. :/

#506863

Might be the frame of the new macbooks... probably would look better with the screen and all.

I'd like to think it's photoshopped but its all to realistic :/

#506944

Looks ok...

... you misread what I said

" I would be screaming fake EXCEPT that ..."

#506976

you misread what I said

Actually... I didn't !!

I quoted you on the U.G.L.Y. part... It's just a frame holder for screen and you were already screaming ugly. :)

What I said:

... people just love to go on screamin' ugly ...

I'm the man when it comes to faking products.

This is a TERRIBLE photoshop, not even slightly photo-realistic.

The design is bulky and not like apple at all, ive got a feeling if they were to make this product they make even scrap the aluminum and go for iPhone like casing anyway.

One way I could prove how bad this design is; i'l do my own and i'l show you how convincing something like this should be!

@technominds: Seeing that you're a graphic designer (which is what even I happen to be), I'll bookmark your comment... for future reference. I really do hope that you're right. :)

Well heres about 20 minutes of sketching up...

I think this is more realistic than theirs!

One thing I noticed is the texture and shadows aren't well rendered in their image. It COULD however be a mockup from apple, but they NEVER let things leak, its very unlikely.

Well, let me know what you think! :o

That does look more believable.

That does look more believable.

And too clean to look real. Besides, these images are not of rumoured touchbook... but new macbook casings.

As a studio photographer... I can see that these shots are taken on partially reflective surface, causing reduction in shadows, plus the room is well lit and most probably key light was positioned on exact top for most of the frame pictures. The only picture that looks debatable is back side of the lid, showing off-centered logo. But the frame pictures, at least by my inspection does not look like photoshop job.

#507130

holy batman techno, that's gorgeous! work on it more and make it look even more awesome :D.

Too clean.. well I only gave it 20 minutes of my time!

They would have to be some form of touch interface otherwise the casing is pointless. Which in a way is another give away.. they would never name a new touch product MacBook as its not in book form...

I'm still convinced those photos are 3d rendered

Haha, I could do, but there isnt much point.

I need to get myself a job at apple. I designed similar devices about 3 years ago, and designed and 'leaked' the iPhone/iPhone touch on youtube a year ahead of its release.

Pah.. anyone know employers at Apple? :D

and in what terms casing is pointless? May I ask?
