Wow, they're putting ads in Youtube videos now.

Life is becoming so commercialized. Sooner or later i'll be having ads transmitted into my dreams, like that episode of Futurama.

RADIOACTIVE GAMMA RAYS, DO NOT WANT.

Crysis is a gorgeous looking game and all, but the gameplay is so incredibly overrated its almost sad. And the fact that it took this long to get it running full speed as it should've always had shows incredibly poor engine optimization as well. Thank god they actually took that into consideration with Warhead.

The developers of Crysis spent too much time on dolling up the damned game to make the actual gameplay more than mediocre. That just proves how desperate that guy is to play a piece of (you know) covered in eye candy.

Couldn't have said it better. The gameplay feels like just another FPS, with a nanosuit that makes every fight feel like a joke.

Wait, you don't have those dreams already?

Not yet.

I expected a comment about that machine, but not about the game !!!

Man, they are putting adverts in my dreams, because I know what I'll dream of tonight!

But really, Quad-SLi or 9800's? ****ing awesome.

@Evilmonkey, I disagree, Crysis has a fantastic engine, the reason it runs so poorly on very high is because... shit Very High is really ****ing high. The engine isn't badly optimised, it's just not as optimised as it could be (and you're aware that it's in the same position HL2 was, right? Nothing in the current gen could do it justice, though admittedly hl2 had a game behind it.) Crysis is a really really fantastic graphics tech-demo, even if on my hardware the game could be shown as a powerpoint slideshow.

@Zephi, yeah, pretty much.

@Evemonkey, try playing it on delta and tweaking the difficulty txts. In my config, without armour a couple of shots kills you. But you can cloak for much longer, though the enemies have a greater chance of spotting you. It's pretty fun, at least until you get about half way through and it gets boring again.

It's nowhere in the same position HL2 was. The source engine is incredibly scalable, it could be played on almost all PCs, with very little problems. Hell, it even ran nicely on my older system which was a complete POS. Also, take a look at Call of Duty 2. The graphics were HUGE at that time, when HDR was still just getting implemented in most games, Call of Duty 2 had it on by default. Yet, it still ran beautifully. When I'm talking about engine optimization, I mean that the game can look beautiful, yet still runs perfect. With Crysis, it looks beautiful, but doesn't run as well. You can't argue that they have poor engine optimization, because the developers themselves said it and that's what their aiming to market Crysis Warhead as, a more PC-friendly, shorter, and more intense version of Crysis.

Also, about the difficulty, I was exaggerating slightly, but yeah. I guess playing a couple years of highly-competitive CS and Unreal Tournament ruins most FPS games :P

CryEngine is incredibly scalable.

My PoS low-end graphics card from 3 generations ago plays it (with a bit of tweaking) at approximately medium.

Crysis looks -beautiful- though. It's well ahead of it's time. In a few years, anyone will be able to play it.

They don't have poor optimisation, what the devs said was it can be optimised a lot more :)
