Just bought iMac ... Now what?
I know I can, but here was my thought on it. Buy a Mac worth 2000+ and install Windows on it or buy a powerful pc with say a quad core for less than 1000 and if I want to use mac just install osx86. I mean really I can get a quad core with 5 gb of ram for under 600.

Quad Core, 3 GB of ram for like 629. And well futureshop doesn't have the best prices I'm sure if you were to look around for like 10 min you could find one easy.

You probably don't do a lot of video editing, music production, etc. Macs are better for that. And of course there's the benefit Levi mentioned:
Open up Safari, turn on private browsing, and enjoy hassle, virrus & guilt free p**n.
Lets just say my video editing and music production is well... doesn't happen. Although I love the look of mac so much more that windows.
Like you've said, there's always... *alternatives*. Not to mention, give Linux a shot while you're with your new PC now.
That's the thing -- with me anyway -- the way that I see it is that Macs are for OS X, PCs are for whatever you desire. That's not literally speaking, but socially wise, because *everyone* knows that Macs can run Windows, and Linux, etc etc.
