Starting a life...

Was having a chat with a friend of mine online when a thought came to my head... moving to the uk. Now I'm dead stupid when it comes to things like this.

So was wondering... about how much would one have to save to live 1yr in the uk?

In that time one would have to find a job and blah blah.... This would include just the basic living costs, rent, food, utilities etc... I already know you end up paying 10 times more to get 10 times less over there compared to the states.

I'm just looking for a rough idea, if it is even something feasible.

It's quite scary, I'm thinking of moving abroad because life in the UK has became so unbearable.

We're looking at nearly £1.20 for a liter of petrol (gas). Milk is getting out of hand too. A pint of beer is almost £3.50, sometime more depends where you are

Don't get me started on crime and the justice system, it's seriously going down the toilet. :mad:

I've always thought we're 5 years behind the US in the state of society if that give you any idea where we are now!

I believe it's somewhere near $14.60USD in the Netherlands for Gasoline. Can't suppose it's much difference near England or Germany or such.

Despite the rising cost of living, many of us still have money to spend for recreation and fun. Restaurants, malls and other entertainment establishments are still brimming with apparently contended people who seem to be carrying magical wallets and purses that never run out of money.

Wouldn't the real question be what you want to do while you are over there?

If it's just normal day to day living than you probably could do it for $20 to $30K and have some trips into the rest of Europe. I'm sure bh2 has an empty keg you could sleep in?
