I've asked this question already but im asking it again because i didn't really get it and its something that all windows users have that could prove very useful. The question; how do we modify this little section of the start menu so we can add custom folders in which can be used for quick access instead of having the ugly shortcut icon on you desktop????
why bother?
use a dock, or self-mod Objectbar (or Finderbar)...and/or exploit capabilities of KKMenu or StackDocklet. Lots of apps out there with similar functions, with the same purpose of eliminating the need to click START button. its not as if you have only 32MB RAM or something...
if you are really adventurous, try Talisman.
If you really have the itch to use Start Menu, ask VG. http://www.askvg.com/ . I seem to remember something about tweaking Start Menu items via registry hacks.
