Trouble installing Desklets

Hey. I'm new to AveDesk but have played with it last night and today.

I installed 1.3 and am now trying to add desklets. I downloaded a few and I wasn't sure where to put them, so I ran some google searches, etc and found myself here. I tried double-clicking some files, but some files that I think are the executables are .xml files and they open up a bunch of code in a browser window.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Sorry. I know this has been asked before. I found some threads but nothing there worked.

Well.. are they ".aveinst" files? If they are, it might just be that your PC hasen't registered them with AVEdesk yet. Just double click the icon (Installer of the Desklet) you download and click "Select Specific Program" then browse to your Avedesk.exe, wherever you put it. Or, just right click and select "Open With.." and locate Avedesk.exe.

I'm having the same problem...and I did as you said above. But for some reason...it doesn't register AveDesk on the list of programs, even after I browse for it. Any reason this could be?

yeah i got the same problem. so i set it to open them with avedesk but when i click it it does nothing and it doesn't install it

any idea why this is happening?
