Iphone 3G has been announced 199 $ in 2 countries. But what about macs and Cinemas. They still are higher in Europe as in the States.
For example. They name the same numbers like 899 for Apple Cinema but 899 bucks is not the same as 899 euros. Check the currency rate and you will see how big is it. in case of Apple Cinema it is almost 1.5 percent higher.
Apple, people want macs to be affordable!
Blame it on your government, not Apple.
VAT and import taxes are why Apple products cost more in Europe than in the states.
Don't forget that you effectively "rent" the iPhone. You may get to keep the device in the end (I forget what the contract says), but you pay $70/mo. to use it. Your Mac is something you own - you don't have to pay monthly dues to use it.
70$ A Month?! I thought it was at most...40$.
Here the contracts will start @ 30$ for the 3G.

Well, the 3G data plan is $30 but don't forget you need the regular phone service plan, which is $39.99 for the cheapest plan (AT&T). So, you're paying $69.99/month for the iPhone x 24 months = $1679.76, then add that to the cost of the iPhone.

SJ never said that was MSRP. 
As for the plan costs. It's the same price as any other AT&T smartphone plan.
Unlike the first iPhone where the subsidy was on the data plan (yes, it was subsidized), this time the subsidy is on the phone.
for ladies like me who treasure their nails, iphones are not for us..i love the phone but i cant grow my nails really short, or else my iphone will be a disaster.
