Problem configuring sysstats vertical calendar

HI.

i´m new her, and i hope you guys can help me out.

i have instaled yersterday avdesk 1.3, because i want to use sysstats vertical calendar, i can make it appear on my desktop, but i can´t make it work the way i want.

In the image you can see 2 pictures on the left side is the pic i found on the internet, there says da month and a litle "-", in front of the current day.

but in mine i have no "-", and i only see some letter that i con´t understand what is suposed to mean
