I just want to let you know that there will be a glimps of Windows 7 tonight on May 27, 2008. Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer will demonstrate Windows 7 at the D6 conference in California.

Looks like a frozen aqua, i call it the new "Ice" interface.
^what if they had one task bar, for gadgets, toolbars, minimised windows (with live previews) as well as the new start menu itself... it could have buttons to switch between modes, ie- pressing the start menu down the bottom replaces the window thumbnails with the menu of programs, clicking on the desktop returns the view.... i think itd be really cool, and the current Vista desktop is so cluttered and impractical.
I really like the (most likely fake) screenshots Ive seen so far, but I dislike everything that ive heard from microsoft, most especially the fact that its going to be modular and subscription (after seeing what happened with vista, can u blame me?).
One thing i do like is the concept of min win... a lighter faster kernel.
I think Microsoft should rewrite the whole of windows... forget backwards compatibility. We want a simple, clean, fast and stylish OS with cool features. We have that in OSX.
As for the whole "touch windows" blowing us away... I think what a joke. We do not want a touchscreen computer... now where's that "Big Ass Table" microsoft surface parody video?
I'd go more linuxy.
IE, open the compositioner that they will have up to plugin developers, and forget window effects themselves, and make it lightweight and customisbable.

Whoopie. Another chance for Microsoft to completely drop the ball again. Another Windows release that people will moan and complain about. The reminiscence of Longhorn still in the air.
