How do I replace icons associated with filetypes?

Hi everyone!

I would like to know if is possible to replace the icons associated with filetypes?

Let me explain better using an example:

I want to replace the icon for all text documents files (with .txt extension).

Or you could find out which dll the icon is in and use Reshacker this way is nice and free

May be i can give you an easiest idea. Open "Folder Options" then go to "File Types" tab....

Search for the file extension u want to change, then go to "Advanced" Button then "change icon" button.......

Be careful. Anytime I've replaced the .xls filetype with another icon, I've had issues with Excel not recognizing the files. There's no easy fix to this either. You should be fine with .txt files.
