Cursor issues

Today I changed my cursor on Windows Vista Home Prem. and I changed it to a Mac OS X black cursor downloaded from Deviant Art site. It successfully changed but when I shut down my laptop, the next day I turned it on it was a white one again which is a problem (I also dislike the vista cursor). I changed it a few more times and every time after reboot same problem occurs. I need some help! Thanks!

I have heard people complaining about this problem before, but everything works fin on my Vista. How did you change the pointer? Is there anything special about your OS? Is it updated?
