WWDC rumour, speculation and dreams

Much has been said about the upcoming 3G iphone, it almost seems innevitable, almost now a "fact"... but Apple seems to be making as much of a point about "Mac"... what exciting things do you think is ahead for both these platforms?

Better, sleeker, faster Macs & Macbooks (that's a given).

Moar than likely a 3G iPhone which will have a bigger FD (flash drive) and maybe encrypted firmware to protect it from jailbreaking.

Wizard.. your iWork 09 strategy sounds very much like Microsoft's Vista strategy... lol, are you a disgruntled employee?

Realistically for iphone i want to see-

* 5 MP camera with better overall quality pics and a flash.

* Bluetooth headphones. because itd be cool.

* a basic word/note processor.

* GPS functionality standard using either a GPS reciever or triagulation technology.

* Games... I think Apple should pair up with nintendo to deliver classics like donkey kong, mario kart, etc over the itunes store. it'd be seriously cool. motion tilt gameboy iphone anyone?

*3G.

* Better battery life. why not.

* A slimmer design. because its meant to be a phone. not an ipod brick.

* colours- seriously, everyone is gonna have an iphone, it needs to be personal

I'm going to say Apple screens with built-in iSight. a new MacBook redesign will be on the plate, probably under the "One more thing..." section, and then the iPhone as the main event. (Natch.)

Definitely a higher mp, flash I don't know about. It's not really aimed at the kind of people who would use it as a primary camera and would probably take a compact camera around as well when needed.

Mrrr, iLounge had the scoop that it was slightly thicker. Benefit to this would be a better battery for the 3G and possibly GPS functions.

The Nintendo thing would be soooo ****ing awesome.... I would buy an iPhone just for that. Monkey Ball, that's crazy! I have it for my PS2, but playing it on a phone, that'd be soooo outta control.

Yes, but not of Microsoft.

/me remembers when Office 07 and Vista was released while working at CompUSA and having to check in and input inventory for their shipment. Two huge ass boxes, the size of their merchandising equipment, dozens of the popular stuff. No more than 6 of dozens of other stuff. Word, Word Upgrade, Groove (?!?), Groove Updrage, et cetera et cetera. I wanted to kill myself at the end of that day. At least I got Vista for 70% off when we closed. Though, I still feel like I got ripped off.

Yea, GrooveMonitor or something like that, Avast recognized it as a virus on my Winslowz XP, right after i upgraded to MSO 2007.

I disagree...

I've long been a seperatist... that is one who likes his phone to make phone calls, his camera to take good photos and his iPod to listen to music.

I used to hate mobile phones that could do it 'all' but in a limited or complicated way. Then Apple came to the scene, and with thier unique software they proved to me that this all-in-one device was the way of the future... it could both be easy, practical and damn cool.

They proved it not with the camera, but with the way they integrated the ipod into the phone.

I dont have the room to carry an extra camera in my luggage... I see no reason why apple cant make a decent point and shoot camera and put it into the iphone. I'm not talking a big SLR ... just a simple good quality camera with a flash and red eye reduction.

In league with the Canon ixus or sony cybershot... you look at the sony ericson phones, even thier cameras carry the "cybershot" label, they're aiming to be decent quality.
