[help]how To Make Jpeg's Show Up As Thumbnails?

Does anyone know how to make a jpeg image show up as a thumbnail when it is placed on the desktop? Macs do this by default. Most of my pictures are in thier own folder but sometimes when I get a few new pictures I would like to keep them on the desktop for a while. I know if you save a picture in .psd format and place it on the desktop it shows up as a thumbnail but I am wanting this to happen for jpeg's and possibly other formats. Any help would be appreciated.

If you install Adobe Photoshop (only 7.0 as far as I know), you can get auto-generated thumb nails in any directory/drive. I like this feature, accept on slow external drives and CD-ROMs.
