Dynamic Music Wallpaper

At the moment, I'm using, and loving, Winamp's Milkdrop visualiser as my desktop wallpaper.

It's all well and good, but it doesn't take the output from my card, rather simply winamp.

Taking it form my card would mean system noises made little bumbs in it, an podcasts would change it, too, so... does such a thing exist?

EDIT: and why does mIRC lose it's transparency whever I start milkdrop?
