So I was messing around in the registry one day, when I flicked a switch I didn't mean to flick.
So then, when I rebooted, I found to my dismay that whenever a window got focus, it came to the top. For a while, this drove me mad, but now I'm used to it, it makes other desktops seem old, and static.
Now, I'm the sort of person who likes a fresh reinstall of windows every so often, but... anyone know how I'd get this back?
there are a few utility programs (some free and some not,) that expose this registry setting. I believe TweakUI has this option accessible.. and sticking with a Microsoft app is probably better than some of the others out there. (even though this may mean it might be slower, and not search everywhere, like in system32. ^^)

MS aren't doing powertoys for vista, are they? All ultimate extra crap...

sorry, you're out of luck with Vista and powertoys. It doesn't look like there are any plans to release updated versions for Vista., if you are brave, you could try running XP's TweakUI in compatibility mode as admin, and ONLY change the AutoRise Option under X-Mouse settings. Once you've made the change, then close out of the program and you're set. Again, if you're brave.
google "vista mouse over window" and click the link to howtogeek.com. That's what you're after, right?

Agh, the unthinkable has happened!
I booted up my PC today to find my wallpaper back to last weeks, objectdock unregistered (Though since I re registered it, systray works - wtf?), and my windows have lost their supertracking ;_
EDIT:Ah, musen's link worked, though now it has a delay, which it never had before. Neat, though I'd like it to be configurable. I guess I'll whip out regedit.
